If I told you it's a new Jay-Z track and it's produced Kanye and it's titled "Brooklyn (Go Hard), What artist do you think he sampled? None other than Santi White aka Santogold. This seems to be the song she mentioned to NME.com:
"I'm going to do some recording on a project David Byrne's doing and I'm working on a track with the Beastie Boys for their record. I may also do something with Jay-Z, it's kind of secret - it's not for anything, it's just 'cause we want to."

I know you love the clever title. Admit it. Anyway, yes this album review is a little late, but there was a major holiday and lots of flights to catch. After uploading the CD to iTunes I decided to give it a complete listen. See my track by track breakdown after the jump.
Say You Will
Interesting drum patterns and the electronic beeps remind you of hospital monitors. The orchestral synths and piano add great ambience to Kanye's pleas. Instrumental break is great. Such bare compositions allow for great use of vocals and echoes. (see Rick Rubin)
Welcome to Heartbreak
The machined feeling of the drums give great added effect. Great contrast between the mechanical drums with the sincere piano, Kanye's distorted verses and Kid Cudi's soulful chorus. I could do without Kanye's "No No No can't stop" falsetto at the end, though.
Heartless
The beat is amazing. He raps and sings minimally. Most people probably like this the most cause it's the least different from usual Kanye. It's great but I had it on rotation so much before the album released that I am over it. Still love the growl/bark accents on "Me" around 1:45, though.
Amazing
Amazing is as it says. The haste of the drums and the relative lag of the piano and his lyrics at the beginning catch you off guard. The adlibs slowed down to add weight are great. Distorted vocals to show the emotionlessness. (that a word?) Jeezy guest verse, amazing. Also the gap between 'Ye and Jeezy reminds me of Mars Volta...
Love Lockdown
The song that started it all. Heartbeat made by 808's. Stark compositions again to add weight to the lyrics and to the drums that bring more rhythm than the original heartbeat of the song. Piano precise and mechincal this time, no emotion in those keys this time.
Paranoid
The most interesting Synth I've heard in a while. Not sure why he kept the laughter at the beginning. Great 80's feel. Kid Cudi comes in to sing again and does great work. I like this song a lot but not for the same reasons I like the others. It doesn't have the same somber feel the rest do, but it is just a great song. A party song tribute to the paranoid girlfriend.
Robocop
Easily the most interesting beat on the album. The orchestra is lost on me, but it doesn't take away from the song. At points the strings have me thinking Kanye has been listening to Journey "Don't Stop Believing" a little too much. The ending justifies the strings though.
Street Lights.
My favorite, most Un-Kanye, track on the album. I mean this song is just amazing. If you have ever walked by yourself down the streets of a city at night this song is a great example of the cold existence that has become modern life. I mean just listening to it reminds me of walking with the headlights of oncoming cars and street lights blinding with full glare. The cold of the air mixing with your breath as you exhale, clouding up.
Bad News.
My least favorite track on the album. Still a good track just too sparse, feels like filler. The beat is amazing, though, very active drums and great piano and string compositions. If he added (interlude) to the title I would probably not complain. C'est La Vie.
See You In My Nightmares
Obligatory Weezy track. Autotuned the fuck out. Kanye shows the ferocity of an angry ex. The frustation of a break up. The beat gets lost in the echo of Kanye's anger and frustration. Somber moments only come from when Weezy F. Bizzle gets his chorus on. Ah, the universally known, Fuck you, it's over.
Coldest Winter
The ticker of a hihat, the abrupt start of the beat with what seems to be a snare, more like a glitch. The stomping taiko drums, and the sincerity of the post "winter!" synthesizer. Kanye's pleas for his emotions to return. Drum solos for the finish. A good ending to an amazing album.
Hate all you want, the man makes great music. While before he was being very deliberate with his production and songwriting, here he lets it all hangout. I mean he had been saving things written from College Dropout all the way to Graduation. (See Homecoming) This time he let his emotions control the production. Allowed great influence from established and up & coming artists (see Young Jeezy and Kid Cudi) and made what I would say is a classic album. For those angry fans that say Kanye made a horrible album, get over it. He made a great album, YOU just don't like it. Pidgeonhole yourself out your baggy jeans and listen to good music.

The title says it all. I mean there's an interesting Gza story in this but you should just watch.

Now I will admit I tend to overlook B.o.B when he drops things and I'm sorry. So to make up here's this dope track that recently leaked from the Grand Hustle artist. This goes out to those corporate gangsters

It's tough out here in the streets...but it's even tougher inside of Toys R' Us. Two people were shot down dead inside of a Toys R' Us in Palm Desert, California today. Was it over the great sales of toys, and kid blankets??? No. The shooting was a result of an altercation (argument for those who don't know) between two teenage girls shopping for Black Friday sales...Ok, maybe it was over the sales of toys, and kid blankets. All jokes aside, they have three suspects in custody, one being a juvenile.
Early this morning across the US, at a Wal-Mart in Long Island, an employee was trampled...aka stomped to death by over 200 customers. He was pronounced dead at 6am. What a terrible way to start your day. But all jokes aside, that is ashame. That is also the picture of some random lady gettin trampled, not the employee who was killed.
Thank Mrs. Eazy for finding these tragic stories.
Update: I AM NOT MAKING FUN OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES TODAY. TRYING TO LIGHTEN UP THE MOOD OF TERRIBLE EVENTS DOES NOT MEAN I AM POKING FUN AT ALL.

Here are some behind the scenes pictures from Kid Cudi's Day 'N' Night video shoot. Hit the jump for more. Courtesy of Semtex.
The concept for the video revolves around Cudi’s own British Bodega [we call them Corner Shops out here], and some of the finest UK video chicks.

Busta Rhymes is easily one of the most interesting characters...here's video of him in the studio. So I guess I lied when I said we won't be posting much...

Over here at PFOP we got love for the homie Rik. He speaks on the accusations of him and his Three/21 media group lowering the standard of music video and being a cancer to filmmaking. The haters strike again, smh. What do you think?

A new video from Jamie Foxx featuring the king of the south. I'm looking forward to this album because his last one was surprisingly good. Enjoy!
